Juan is a quiet man, who without making much noise made it very clear as a student that he wanted to become an instructor at RAZ SURFCAMP, he trained and he succeeded.

Currently finishing his studies in Sports Sciences in Lisbon and enjoying the good waves of our beloved neighbouring country. Lifeguard specialist in beaches, water is his natural environment complementing surfing with swimming and diving. Other hobbies are listening to music all day and astronomy that is in his blood and he is responsible for transmitting it as one of the camp activities. He has also surfed all over the peninsula, the Canaries and France. Kindness and great teaching qualities are what he is known for.

We are lucky to have a volleyball specialist for the afternoons filled with activities on the beach.

With Paula you will be encouraged to take your first steps in sport that combines so well with supervised free swimming sessions. Paula is a lover of sports in general and combines her studies of Economics with surfing, skiing and her participation every year in Superliga 2 at the national level at the “Vall d’Hebrón” club in Barcelona, ​​also being a referee for the FCV .

Always ready to help with a smile, you will find her in all the free time activities that are proposed, leading the girls with her good vibes in the lively evening activities. Since 2018 at RAZ SURFCAMP, she is the ideal “resident” Free Time instructor.

Student of Sports Sciences and belonging to the most famous saga of surfers in the southern peninsula, Alberto is the confirmation that with effort and dedication you can go very far.

He spent 3 years as a student at Raz SurfCamp and we were not wrong when we told him that his surfing was very good, especially his ways for the longboard. Years later, Alberto is an elite athlete, Spanish longboard champion for 3 consecutive years 2012-14 and finalist in the last 2 European championships, rubbing shoulders with the best in the world… and he keeps rising!

Since 2015 he has returned home to transmit his joy and knowledge to the Raz SurfCamp students.

He has traveled all over Europe competing and as a freesurfer, but you can find him whenever winter waves enter his natural habitat, the surroundings of Doñana, the Cadiz coast and the Portuguese Algarve.

Graduate in Law, Business Administration and Marketing, he can take your wedding photos and help you finalise your divorce!

Snowboarding and punk-rock enthusiast. He shares a band with Fonso (on the Staff too), and they both have an audiovisual agency.

Good vibes all round, Diego and all the staff of free time will start an infinite number of activities so that you always have a fun option to do after surfing.

Degree in fine Arts

We met him as a student in 2005 and we knew that one day he would pass on his talents to other campers and he did. In love with Galicia he did not hesitate to study Fine Arts in Pontevedra where he graduated, continuing his love affair with surfing in Razo from 2013 to 2018, giving classes in the water, on the skate park and wherever he could get involved.

Great artist, fun, traveler, he never stops creating with his hands wherever he goes, be it in his workshop in Mallorca or the mountains of Nepal. In 2021 he has not been able to bear the homelessness and returns home to return to give the best of himself.

Barbecues and the Catalan rumba of his guitar are back.

I learnt to surf at Raz Surf Camp and since then I have been chasing the waves and learning more about this sport. Currently I live in Fuerteventura right in front of my favourite waves and living each day as if it were the last! It will be a pleasure to share with you everything I learnt on the amazing Razo beach one day! I hope you get amazing waves!!!

When you walk into the dining room after a hard day at sea, you will always find Andrea handing out the award with kindness and a smile. As a teacher of Early Childhood Education, she understands and defends  education as the engine for the world to change. Traveler, lover of sports, surfing, nature and traditional Galician music.She has many more hobbies but she’d rather tell you about them at RAZ SURFCAMP and she also wants to hear about yours!

An enthusiastic bodyboarder and student of Film and Sound, he is passionate about aquatic photography especially when conditions are harsh where he feels like a fish in water. When he competed, he had excellent results as champion of the Galician sub-18 circuit in 2013, also winning that year the Spanish sub-18 championship test in Liencres, finalist in the national sub-18 of Doniños and in the Open Coca-Cola in Adrin 2015.

He defines himself as allergic to seriousness and an artist without art, and we all know that with him around, fun is guaranteed

He has surfed high waves all over Spain and Portugal, the Canary Islands and Indonesia

Another of the instructors who trained with us and makes us proud of the fact! . Juanjo was a camper for several summers with his brothers (Carlos and Alberto Fernández, the latter seven-time champion of Spain in Longboard and also an instructor with us) showing great skills for surfing from a very young age. Elite athlete, currently the best Andalusian surfer and one of the absolute best nationals. Here is a summary of his most outstanding feats:

• Bronze in the Eurojunior 2010 with the Spanish National Team
• Spanish junior runner-up in 2010
• Bronze Absolute Spanish Championship years 2012 and 2013
• Winner of the Championship of Spain for Communities 2014, Valdoviño.
• Rider of the winning peninsular team in Red Bull Rivals 2015 against the canaries

• Runner-up of Spain absolute 2018

A great connoisseur of the peak waves of Huelva, Cadiz and southern Portugal, he has also taken on waves throughout the Peninsula, the Canary Islands, France or Australia, where he spent the winter 2014-15 with a sports scholarship at the University of Colangatta, perfecting his English and training with pro surfer Clayton Nienaber.

Teacher in Early Childhood and Primary Education, he defines himself as a passionate  skater and high school record holder in pizza eating.

A lover of snowboarding, every winter he escapes to Grandvalira where he spends a few weeks taking on the sport that he is most passionate about.

At 17 he already had his first album with his inseparable friend Diego Rodríguez (also on the Raz SurfCamp staff) with whom he shares his love of snowboarding, bodyboarding and sliding sports and of course, everything that has to do with photography and video.

His experience in camps and his restless ass has given a lot of energy to Free Time and the Audiovisual Team.

Catalan, I came to learn to surf and, on a trip, to explore Galicia, I ended up staying here for 14 years.

I created Mar de Encuentros, a project of my own where I could develop my creativity (conceptstore) and now I found my perfect balance in sport giving Vinyasa Yoga and Pilates classes.

I like doing sports in nature, bodyboarding, Surfing, Snowing, hiking… I love reading, painting, drawing, creating things, spaces, designing, everything that has to do with Art and creativity.

Graduated in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences and Master in compulsory Secondary teaching staff, Joan already lived a first stage as a teacher with us in 2017 and 2018, where he recorded his work and enthusiasm for teaching and returns in 2021 to continue enjoying his passion.

Always smiling, he took root in Galicia and is currently preparing to become a firefighter, insurance on land and at sea for the Raz Surfamp staff.

Mirko manduca 21 years old, originally from Argentina but I have lived in the Canary Islands since I was 5, since I arrived on the island I started surfing with family and friends and since then I have not stopped and I continue to love it more with each day, for many years I did national competitions and European where I realized I don’t like competing much but love surfing, so I invested my time in studying (Tafad) and on surfing trips to Indonesia, Australia, France … I enjoy surfing and hunting for waves that fill me with adrenaline.

Surfer since 1988. The alma mater of this entire project, when in 1991 no one had thought that a surf camp was feasible on our coasts, Alejandro had a vision and took a chance. He enjoys life in the camp like no one else and lives the RAZ SURCAMP project with the intensity needed to ensure an amazing experience. Runner-up in Spain Master in 2006. Whenever the office gives him a break you can see him in the water, playing table tennis, playing guitar or enjoying Razo beach, if you can’t find him, he is traveling… Indonesia, Australia, Costa Rica , Panama, Brazil, California, Morocco, France, Italy, Portugal, Cape Verde and its many getaways to the Cadiz coast.

Fabián has been on the staff since ’91 as an instructor and since ’97 as Director.

Member of the Galician national team during his youth. A student of surfing, he has been developing our own teaching method during all these years to make sure that learning here is a fun and fast experience. Very demanding when choosing and training our instructors, he makes sure that we have a harmonious and seamless team formed only by the most capable people who are 100% committed  to the spirit of RAZ SURF CAMP.

He combines his work in the camp with long stays abroad to help people improve surfing in places as diverse as Southern California (where he has worked several winters), Hawaii (one winter working on the North Shore of Oahu) , Tahiti, The Canary Islands and El Salvador. A great travel lover, he has also surfed in France, Portugal, Indonesia, Panama, Morocco, Cape Verde, Ireland or Costa Rica. When he is not traveling or in the camp, you will surely find him enjoying the winter sun in his beloved Fuerteventura, meaning he doesn’t stop surfing!

Graduated in Fine Arts, she has been part of it all alongside Alejandro from the very beginning. Friendly and always ready to smile, she combines her work managing camp bookings with the painting classes she teaches in her Carballo workshop. Radical bodyboarder with small waves, starting out now with the surfboard.

Full of joy and smiles. In charge of the reception and our shop, always smiling, María is the right person to answer our questions. Always up for a good conversation. A committed bodyboarder who loves riding the waves under the sun,  she combines her work in the camp with her passion as a Majanicho Terrier breeder.
